A direct Lieberman quote: "As far as I’m concerned [Barack Obama] is a ‘Baruch,’ which means a blessing. He is a blessing to the United States Senate, to America, and to our shared hopes for better, safer tomorrows for all our families. The gifts that God has given to Barack Obama are as enormous as his future is unlimited. As his mentor, as his colleague, as his friend, I look forward to helping him reach to the stars and realize not just the dreams he has for himself, but the dreams we all have for him and our blessed country."

"Biden blamed the Bush administration’s sluggish diplomatic efforts for slowing up Israeli-Palestinian talks and paving the way for the ascendancy of Iran and its proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah. The Democratic vice presidential candidate argued that the administration has failed to respect Israel’s autonomy, citing reports that the White House at one time directed Israel not to engage in talks with Syria. And he appeared to reject the administration’s reported efforts to block Israel from taking military action against Iran."
"Which Joe is More In-Synch with Jewish Voters?" by Douglas Bloomfield, The Jerusalem Post, 8/26/08
Even though turncoat Joe Lieberman didn't get the GOP Veep nom, this is still a great article about why Joe Biden is a good bet for Jewish voters. You have to click "view as one page" and then search for "kike" to find the correct part of the story, but this article offers a clear and reasonable explanation for Obama's use of work kike in the first edition of his book Dreams from My Father. It shows without a doubt that the use wasn't anti-Semitic or in poor taste. In fact Obama was quoting some bathroom graffiti to highlight that anti-Semitism still exists, even on America's elite college campuses.
